about us
Meridian Canine Rescue is a non-profit, no-kill canine rescue dedicated to giving homeless and owner surrendered dogs a second chance. We have both a facility and a network of foster homes, several staff members, great business partnerships, and a whole bunch of awesome volunteers — all of which help us care for dogs in need.
We strongly believe that no dog should walk alone. That’s why we strive to provide a safe environment and exceptional quality of life to our dogs.

Dogs are individuals
We view each dog as an individual with unique needs and personality traits. That’s why you won’t find breed labels around here.

Positive reinforcement
We believe in modern, science-based training. We choose non-aversive methods to build trust and encourage positive behaviors.

Community-funded
Our donors support our work and allow us to save more lives. As a 501c3 nonprofit with no contracts or major funding sources, we rely on the generosity of dog lovers.

No-kill
Dogs are never euthanized for lack of space or money. We help each dog to the very best of our ability, and we maintain a live outcome rate of over 99%.

Testimonials

Volunteering here fills my heart with joy! It’s the best part of my week because I feel like I’m making a small difference for the dogs in our care. The dogs are so loving and happy to see me when I get off work. They love to go for walks with me. Sometimes we sit and watch baseball for a while or the other dogs at the play park. And, when the dogs get adopted into new families that love them and you get updates with pictures, well I’ll admit it, little happy tears well up in my eyes. It’s the place to be where you’ll make lots of new friends — human and canine.
