Our People

Volunteering Benefits

Volunteers provide much-needed support for our organization. From cleaning to managing administrative tasks to assisting with marketing projects — there is no shortage of service opportunities at MCR.

Some volunteers provide exercise, social time, enrichment, and training for our dogs. It is a rewarding and fulfilling experience that means the world to every dog and human at MCR. Volunteers who wish to interact directly with the dogs may opt in to additional training that covers a wide array of canine behavior topics. There is room for growth and advancement if you’d like to deepen your understanding of dogs.

MCR offers a variety of service options in the following areas:

  • Kennel Maintenance
  • Dog Handling

Together, We Save Lives

I have been a volunteer with Meridian Canine Rescue for over two years and the impact that this organization has had on my life is tremendous. The sense of community between the staff and volunteers along with the bond that every person has with the dogs truly speaks to the type of organization Meridian Canine Rescue is.

Volunteering with Meridian Canine Rescue has encouraged me to do more for my community along with expanding my knowledge of the shelter system. I love being with the dogs and people, knowing that my actions are doing good for the community.
