MCR volunteers can opt in to additional hands-on training, including classes and workshops that cover a wide array of canine behavior topics. There is room for growth and advancement if you’d like to deepen your understanding of dogs.

Recruit Your Family

After attending our New Volunteer Orientation session, you can choose to become a foster parent. This is a great way to get the whole family involved in saving lives and to teach your kids how to give back to your community.

Together, We Save Lives

"It is wonderful to volunteer at an organization where everyone has the same passion...helping our homeless dogs! I say 'our' dogs, because that's how you'll feel about them. You fall in love with them from the very first meeting. Yes, it's hard knowing they don't have homes and so desperately want and deserve them, but the flip side is that just by going to volunteer, even if you can only walk one dog that day, you know you made their day better. Just taking them outside, or sitting in their kennel or even quickly stopping by and handing them a treat...every second you spend with them never gets taken for granted by them and everything lets them know they are loved. And that's what they need to hang in there and stay sane while they wait for their forever homes. They need to know they are loved. They need you!! And believe me, you'll end up needing them too!
